August/September Backpacking Trip

On this trip we went out the weekend of the 31st/1st and we counted it as both months and the start of our challenge to get out there on a backpacking trip once a month no matter what the weather holds. We are up at Purple Lake and had tried to summit Purple Mountain on the backside..... cliffed out and ran out of day light but it was a beautiful trip nonetheless. Notice the sunshine.... a rare treat! Also notice that we couldn't find our MSR camp stove and lugged our two burner car camping stove along on the trip. It made for some entanglments in the alder as well as providing a much needed cup of coffee in the morning.
