Summer in Durango
This is a photo of Bear Creek Canyon where our forty acres is. This photo is taken from the ridge on the south side of our property looking west towards the Pine River drainage.
The summer went by fast! Nate had a great year at the USFS monitoring campsites in the local southwestern Colorado wilderness areas completing all of the inventories with his crew. I was able to volunteer on two of his wilderness backpacking trips which was a nice break from graduate school. I completed four classes over the summer and passed the final exam without a hitch. Over the summer I learned about Pilates and have been practicing it daily. Pilates is an exercise program that focuses on strengthening your core muscles and it is renowned for protecting the back. Nate has developed his fly fishing skills catching fish across the wilderness areas in streams and lakes as well as landing his first bass in Missouri. We had some really nice visits with family over the summer seeing both sets of my parents and Nate’s family in Missouri.
